Police arrest suspects in alleged gang shooting

McMinnville police announced Friday evening that they have arrested four people involved in an Aug. 6 alleged gang-related shooting. No one other than the alleged shooter was injured.

Police arrested Gustavo Andalon, 19, of McMinnville, on charges of attempted murder, unlawful use of a weapon, pointing a firearm at another and reckless endangering. He was lodged in the Yamhill County jail.

Jose Alejandro Andalon, 21, of McMinnville was arrested and cited into Yamhill County Circuit Court on a charge of hindering prosecution.

Jorge Luis Jacobo, 18, of McMinnville was arrested on charges of hindering prosecution and first-degree theft of a firearm. He also was lodged in jail.

Jose Eric Marquez-Gonzalez, 20, of McMinnville, was arrested on a charge of possessing cocaine, and lodged in the jail.

Police said they expect to make more arrests as the investigation continues.

The shooting took place on the evening of Aug. 6 at the intersection of Baker and 27th streets. According to witnesses, a man got out of a vehicle, approached the car behind his, and fired a handgun at the people inside.

Police said the driver who was shot at accelerated and struck the shooter, causing “significant leg injuries.” The shooter then left in his original vehicle, with assistance from friends.

The gunowner did NOT say "he was the only one" to have access, and did NOT seemingly accuse any one person. The reporter Paul Dilaquante was not in the jury room, but read detective's affidavits and chose his words from that.
