McMinnville needed a quarter and a half Tuesday night at The Furnace to eclipse its Jan. 22 output of 20 points, but the Grizzlies would need a lot more to hold off Forest Grove, 71-69, in the rivals' Class 6A Greater Valley Conference game.

The Vikings tied the Grizzlies at 69 with 18 seconds remaining in the game, after which McMinnville head coach Willie Graham called timeout. Cameron Autencio took the ball down the court and drew a foul on the floor with 5.8 seconds remaining, enabling him to shoot free throws in a 1-and-1 situation.

Autencio's first free throw went through the cylinder but was knocked back through by Cedric Agcaoili-Ostrom. Forest Grove players advocated for offensive goaltending, but the referees called the play a made free throw. Autencio sank his second attempt, and the Vikings failed to make a shot to stay alive.

Autencio finished the game with 10 points. Wyatt Smith led all scorers with 25 points, while Isaiah Coste (18 points) and Jacob Powell (16 points) also finished in double figures for the Grizzlies.

McMinnville sophomore Aaron Baune did not participate in the game due to illness. Grizzlies assistant coach Mark Peterson (illness) was also unavailable.

Does anyone know why they all repeatedly and obsessively kick their legs up and rub their palms on the soles of their shoes?? It's a weird thing to watch. I wonder if their is some NBA player that does that and they are all copying him??
