Rural McMinnville crash kills one

A 2013 McMinnville High School graduate, Parker Berndt Wold, 20, was killed early Monday morning in a single vehicle rollover crash in the 15000 block of Northwest Baker Creek Road.

Wold was the driver of the four-door sedan, according to the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office. His passengers were 20-year-old Mitchel Graham and 19-year-old Dylan Nymeyer, both of McMinnville.

Nymeyer was transported by Life Flight helicopter to a Portland trauma hospital with serious injuries. Graham was transported by McMinnville Fire Department ambulance to the Willamette Valley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash, which was reported about 3:30 a.m., is being investigated by the county's Multi-Agency Traffic Team. However, it's believed alcohol and speed were factors.

"These types of crashes are always hard to cope with because they are so preventable," Sheriff' Tim Svenson said. "I hope, with high school graduations looming, that this unfortunate incident will be a reminder for young folks in our community to celebrate safely."

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact deputy Todd Steele at 503-434-7506 or steelet@co.yamhill.or.us.

So So Sad...on his way home I would bet....please young ones...do not drive when you are tired, upset, been drinking or any other thing that may take your mind off the road. There could have been a deer in the road that made him swerve and lose control..do not assume that because there may or may not have been alcohol involved, that the driver was under it's influence. Peace to all!!
