McMinnville JBO sets tryout dates

The McMinnville Junior Baseball Organization will hold tryouts March 7-8 at Wortman Stadium on the McMinnville High School campus.

Tryout times are as follows: 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for midgets, 10:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. for juniors, and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for seniors.

All interested players need to register at www.macjbo.com before attending tryouts.

 

Parks and Rec sets youth soccer dates

Parents interested in signing up their children for McMinnville Parks and Recreation youth soccer have until Wednesday, Feb. 11, to do so.

Boys and girls in kindergarten through sixth grade may participate. Games run from March 7 through April 30 at Joe Dancer Park in McMinnville.

Dayton HS Crab Feed takes place March 14

Dayton High School is hosting its fifth annual Crab Feed and silent auction fundraiser on Saturday, March 14, at the McMinnville Armory at 333 S.E. Armory Way.

Tickets to the event cost $30, with proceeds going toward the Dayton High senior grad night and the Pirates’ boys basketball and baseball programs.

Parks and Rec seeks BB, SB sponsors

The City of McMinnville Parks and Recreation still has sponsorship opportunities for the youth baseball and softball programs. The program serves nearly 800 players ranging in age from 5 to 13 years old.  Options for sponsors include team sponsorship or outfield signs.  Interested sponsors can contact Steve Ganzer (503-474-4930 steve.ganzer@ci.mcminnville.or.us ) at McMinnville Parks and Recreation for more information and forms. In order to allow sufficient time to order uniforms, sponsors should return all sponsorship forms by February 21.

 

Willamina HS prepares for sports auction

Willamina High School is accepting donations of cash or items for its annual dinner auction, which will take place on April 25.

Proceeds from the auction will be used toward a concessions stand and finishing touches on the sports complex at the high school campus. Checks must be made payable to WHS Auction.
