Willamina board names 3 superintendent candidates; Zimbrick in the mix

WILLAMINA — The Willamina School Board announced three finalists for the superintendent's position at a Wednesday night special meeting.

Moon is a former Oregonian. She attended George Fox University in Newberg and Western Oregon University in Monmouth before earning her administrative credential at Lewis & Clark College in Portland.

Zimbrick, a 1979 Sheridan High School graduate, attended the University of Oregon, where she played volleyball for the Ducks, then earned her administrative credentials from Portland State University.

She has spent 31 years in the Willamina district, rising through the ranks as a teacher, coach and principal and fill-in superintendent.

In addition to heading up the elementary school, she is currently serving as head volleyball coach at the high school.

She expressed a strong interest in becoming a superintendent when Forster announced he was retiring.
