New psychiatric hospital readied at Junction City

JUNCTION CITY — The new state psychiatric hospital at Junction City will start receiving patients in March.

Oregon Health Authority spokeswoman Rebeka Gipson-King says construction on the $84 million project is nearing completion.

She says the hospital will house 75 patients by early summer. It has room for about 100 more and will fill those beds as needed.

The Register-Guard reports the hospital has filled 180 positions and needs 150 more employees by March. Eventually the hospital could employ more than 400 people.
