Scoggins Creek Fire 83 percent contained

FOREST GROVE The 211-acre Scoggins Creek fire, burning two miles northwest of Hagg Lake, is 83 percent contained, according to the Oregon Department of Forestry.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office will lift all evacuation orders at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Scoggins Valley Park at Hagg Lake will reopen to the public on Wednesday, dawn-to-dusk, with the exception of Boat Ramp C, which remain closed to support firefighting efforts.

Monday night served as the final night shift for the incident. The resources assigned to Tuesday's day shift will continue working after the team leaves. The in-coming team will shadow the Team 2 members Tuesday for a smooth transition.

To date, 15 crews, five helicopters, eight engines, one bulldozer, eight water tenders and 467 personnel are assigned to the fire. The estimated cost of fighting the blaze is $1.87 million.
