Occasional Quartet will perform
The Occasional Quartet and 545 Express will perform spirituals, barbershop, hip hop and other styles Tuesday, Oct. 16, in a benefit concert for the McMinnville Community Compassion Fund.
The concert will start at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, First and Cowls streets. Admission is free; a freewill offering will be taken for the fund, a non-denominational effort that helps people in crisis.
The popular local Occasional Quartet is made up of Mark Pederson, Jim Dayton, Ron Olisar and Elwyn Behnke. The 545 Express is a touring quartet from the Seattle/Tacoma area in Washington. Its leader, Eric Farris, is a former student of McMinnville High School choir director Robin Pederson.
