Veterans Day moves newspaper to Wednesday; local activities honor veterans

There is no U.S. mail service Tuesday due to the Veterans Day holiday, so the News-Register will not be delivered to local homes until Wednesday. Newspapers will be available at newsstands Wednesday morning.

The Evergreen Museum complex offers veterans and their families a variety of discounts on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the museums off Highway 18, McMinnville. “Fighter Pilot” and “D-Day” will be shown between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. For more information, visit www.sprucegoose.org

The Yamhill Valley Campus of Chemeketa Community College will host a color guard, military displays, veterans’ resource tables and refreshments from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, in Building 1, 288 N.E. Norton Lane, McMinnville. For more information, call 503-472-9482.
